BEACH ESSENTIALS

Sub title

BEACH ESSENTIALS.

When the sea and sand prove irresistible, head on out to the beach and have fun. But don’t forget your most important beach essentials. Your beach accessories are not just there to get you ready for fun, they will also ensure that you are ready for anything. Here are the 7 most important things you need to pack.

Beach Mat. If you hate sitting or lying on the sand, bring a sand-proof beach mat. This is designed to let sand pass through but will not let the grains back up again.

Beach Towel. A good-sized beach towel is not only good to have for when you need something to dry off, you also need something extra to help get you covered up or to lay on if there are no lounging chairs available.

Sunglasses. You may slather on enough sunscreen to protect you for hours but did you know your eyes could suffer from strain on sunny beach days? Sunglasses are some of your most important beach accessories. They make you look good and protect your eyes from harmful UV rays. Look for sunglasses that offer the highest possible protection from the sun. If you can, get sunglasses that have polarized lenses. These lenses reduce the glare coming from reflective surfaces such as sand and water. Choose bigger lenses as well. Big lenses provide protection for a wider area of your face and can protect your eyes from the top and sides.

Floppy Sun Hats. A floppy hat is the perfect accessory to help give your sun protection a boost. With its wide brim, a floppy hat helps protect your head, hair, face, and shoulders from the sun. It is also a very fashionable accessory, especially on the days when you’re at the beach mainly to relax.

Sarong. Always bring a sarong when going to the beach, it’s stylish, comfortable and light. You’ll wear it in many ways and if you forget your beach mat or towel, it will be very handy to have it with you.

Wet Clothing Bag. A waterproof bag that keeps your wet suits and clothing separate from your dry ones is a must-have. There are smaller varieties, such as waterproof bikini bags, and bigger varieties that can hold the whole family’s wet stuff.

Beach Carrycot. We all know a good beach bag is non-negotiable on a trip to the beach. Beach totes are often made from waterproof or water-resistant bags and roomy enough to store all your beach accessories.

Waterproof Phone Case. Stay connected while at the beach but don’t expose your phone to water damage with a waterproof case. Waterproof phone cases are perfect for lounging at the beach or even swimming. You can send and receive text messages or even take pictures underwater with no worries. These often come with wrist or neck straps so you can keep your phone close to you.

COLOUR ANALYSIS: THE 4 SEASONS

Sub title

COLOR ANALYSIS: THE 4 SEASONS.

Color Analysis is a tool to help us to discover the colors and tones that look best on us by evaluating the skin, eyes and hair tones, that’s why we should know and take advantage of it.

Have you ever wondered what colours look best on you? Or why people always compliment you when wearing certain color outfits? Do you look in the mirror and find that certain colors make you look tired? Are you fed up with your habit of making the wrong purchases? If the answer to all these questions is yes, then this article is for you.

First, you need to see your face without make up when it has been cleansed. It’s important that the light is natural. See if the skin tends to look yellow, green or gold. If this is the case, it is a warm skin tone. If, instead, it tends towards pink, red or white, it is a cool tone. Another way to check is to see which blends better – gold goes with warm skin tones and silver goes with cool tones. Once you’ve determined the skin tone you’ve made substantial progress towards excellent styling. Cool tones fall into winter or summer colour palettes, warm tones fall into the spring or autumn colour palettes. Next, we’ll go through the details of each colour palette.

Winter

If your skin is either pale as porcelain or an olive colour, the tone of your face will be pink or blue. ‘Winter’ people often have dark hair and eyes. Asian people fall into this group, although some Scandinavians with blond or almost white hair also can. The colors that work best with this type of skin tone are intense, rich colors such as black, navy, red and pink. White or light yellow can also work. Beige, orange or gold should be avoided.

Palette of winter colours:

Summer

While winter people usually have dark hair, summer people usually have blonde or light brown hair and blue eyes. Their skin is typically light cool, pink undertone, roses and cream, fair to light rosy, light to medium beige.

Pale yellows, purples, mauves and pastel shades are the most suitable colours for these people. In general, earth tones also work well. Orange doesn’t suit this skin type.

Palette of summer colours:

Autumn

Autumn is a warm palette and autumn people will have a golden skin tone. Many redheads and brunettes with brown eyes fall into this group. Some people with golden skin tones can also have black or blonde hair. Earth tones usually work well, like caramel, beige, khaki, orange, gold and dark brown. Avoid black or white, which will make these clients look tired. Avoid pastels too, they don’t flatter this tone.

Palette of autumn colours:

Spring

People with a Spring skin tone typically have light warm, yellow undertone, creamy, white or peach skin. They can have golden blonde, auburn or strawberry blonde hair. Their eyes will usually be blue or green. Freckles and rosy cheeks are typical of this group. The difference between autumn and spring groups is often the eye colour, with spring people having lighter eye colours.

The most suitable colours are soft, like peach, golden yellow, golden brown, ivory, green and light blue. Some reds will also look great. Avoid dark and muted tones, like dark grey or black.

Palette of spring colours:

As we said at the beginning, this is just a tool and not all colours in your season may suit you. It’s likely that some will look better on you than others. However, when you’re shopping, keep in mind the results of the colour analysis as they could be useful to look for clothes in which the colours that are close to your face are the ones that suit you best.

To end, if you like a color in a season not your own, wear it! The most important part about makeup and fashion is that you’re supposed to have fun and feel like yourself. Try out a few ideas and see if you like them, but always remember to be yourself and have a great time!

THE BENEFITS OF A BEACH SARONG

Sub title

THE BENEFITS OF A BEACH SARONG

When you go on holiday, you should pack items in your luggage that can be used for multiple purposes. A beach sarong is an essential travel accessory, particularly if you are traveling to a beach or tropical destination. This is an oblong piece of material in various sizes, which can be worn on your body in several ways. Also, it is suitable for people of all shapes and sizes. You could purchase a number of sarongs and wear them together, to produce pieces of clothing like skirts, swimwear cover ups, dresses, tops, scarves and shawls.

People often overlook the usefulness of a beach sarong away from the seaside, especially in more conservative destinations where you might have to remain covered up. It can be used to conceal your shoulders, knees and neckline, and enable you to wear other types of clothing that might have been unsuitable otherwise. Store it in your daypack or purse, so you will be prepared for a spur of the moment museum visit. Furthermore, in some countries, women who wear pants are frowned upon, even though their legs are covered. A beach sarong will keep you comfortable, and still allow you to mingle with local people, without being judged or stared at.

You should practice wrapping different sized sarongs around yourself in front of a large mirror. Books and tutorials that provide wrapping instructions are available, and there are at least forty-five different methods of tying these garments. A small sarong works well as a top, with a bigger one knotted around your waist to resemble the appearance of a dress. Alternatively, you can wear a large sarong as a long skirt and a small one as a short skirt.

Sarongs can be used for drying off after an afternoon on the beach, or laid out on top of sand. They can be useful after taking a shower too, if your accommodation is substandard. Typically, the lightweight material dries quickly, so they are excellent as substitute towels. Also, you can wrap your fragile belongings and new mementos in them, to avoid luggage breakages during your trip back home.

Before purchasing a beach sarong, think about your color and style preferences. They come in numerous colors, materials and patterns, like cheerful batik prints and pastel mesh net. Some have trims and others have fringes, although the majority have normal hems. Sarongs made from silk are an upmarket option that can be used for wedding dresses.

THE COLOUR WHEEL

Sub title

THE COLOR WHEEL

The color analysis is a fascinating subject, which can help us in choosing clothes, accessories, and make-up. There are four categories: Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn and those names are inspired by the colours of nature in those four seasons of the year.

This tool is used to determine what colors and tones best suit you according to your hair and eye color and skin tones.

Using these tones as your guide, you’ll see how the same shades of color don’t work for everyone. Each color has its warm and cool shades (winter/summer), depending on the depth of blue or red in the composition and how they look.

On this color wheel you can see the primary colours - blue, red and yellow, the section with a range of colors created from different combinations of the primary colors and finally, the tertiary colors which are a mixture of the previous two groups.

To use the color wheel to create successful looks is helpful to distinguish two types of combinations:

  • Supplementary colors – these are placed next to each other on the color wheel and allow you to create very harmonious styling.
  • Complementary colors – these are placed opposite each other on the wheel and allow you to create perfectly matching, dramatic looks.
